BECOMING PART OF A CHURCH COMMUNITY

Connect

At Southlawn United Methodist Church there are multiple ways to fellowship with other church members and enjoy connecting with one another. With the variety of ministries and small groups we have to offer, you will discover how easy it is to get connected.

Music Ministry

The music ministries of Southlawn exist to make a joyful noise unto the Lord and to share His gifts through music. The "Agape Ensemble" adult choir and the "New Generation" children's choir greatly enhance our worship life together. Our revivals and special services will renew and restore your faith. Music touches hearts and souls in such a powerful way. If you are interested in sharing your gifts, please let us know. All are welcome. No experience needed.

Youth Ministry

The Southlawn United Methodist Youth are dynamic group of young people who are committed to serving Christ. This group is focused on their Christian walk and is committed to supporting each other. They are extremely proud of their participation in the Pembroke Institute and their annual Youth Poetry Slam.

Children's Ministry

Southlawn UMC wants to partner with parents on the journey of spiritual growth for their children. Our greatest desire is to help families and their children "believe in Jesus Christ, belong to the family of believers, and be disciples who know their scriptures and live them in our world."

Join us for the "Friday Night Blast". The evening features Spiritual Enrichment, Recreation, Food, Fun & Games and Fellowship.

MEETINGS: 1st Friday of April, June, August, October and December

The United Methodist Women

The ministry circles of the Unit set their own meeting times and include such circles as quilting, girl's mentoring group, food and collection of clothing for needy and much more. All women are invited to join. We will feature our Annual Women’s Day, this year, in September, where we honor outstanding women of the Unit.

The United Methodist Men meet on the Third Sunday of each month after the 10:00 am worship service. The United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek daily His will. One of our main focuses is our youth. We sponsored our first "Youth Talent Program" in 2013. We also sponsor our Annual Men's Day in October. All men are welcome to join.

Grief Ministry

The Grief Ministry is a healing, scripture based ministry for those who have suffered the lost of a loved one and are in need of a safe place to grieve, to remember, to share; A safe harbor where you can cry, laugh, be encouraged and given hope. A place where no matter how long it has been, no one will say to you that you should be over “it” by now and you just need to move on. The mission of the Grief Ministry is to share your burden, help ease the pain and put you on the road to healing, peace and joy again. The Grief Ministry is open to everyone.

MEETINGS: Saturdays 10:00 am - 12:00pm via Zoom

Prayer Warriors

We continue to pray daily for our church members and leaders. We also pray for special needs and concerns in our church and community. We are still praying for Southlawn to reach its potential together in body and in spirit. We are also praying for more members to join our prayer group.

Our goal: Get the whole church involved in prayer.
